One-on-one dates
Having spent a lot of time all together as a foursome, today we thought it would be nice to each spend some time one-on-one with each of the kids. So, in the morning, Dara and Ella got dressed up in nice outfits and jewelry and headed out for a date at the Galleries Lafayette. We started out in the huge cosmetics area (under the beautiful central stained glass dome) and tried on makeup and smelled perfume (Ella's idea of a perfect morning). We then went upstairs and explored the toy area for a while before having lunch at Lina's Enfants - a restaurant in the Department Store designed for children (and their parents). Meanwhile, Abe and Jonah had an adventure of their own. They stuck closer to home and checked out a local market, went to the post office, and generally hung out speaking French with the locals. After nap time we switched. Abe and Ella went swimming, while Jonah and Dara went grocery shopping. Jonah walked all the way to the Monoprix (about 1/2 mile away) pulling the little grocery cart (the kind my grandmother used to use) behind him the whole way.

so cute. how come the only parent-child lunch places around here are called Chuck E. Cheese?
Clearly we need to move to Paris.
